Founded in 1984 by Dan Daniels and Angela Tremonte, Crazy Color grew from a home-garage passion and a small original shop into a trusted Davis County collision repair business.

Born in Seattle and raised on a farm in Mack, Colorado, Dan attended a one-room schoolhouse before enrolling in college with plans to become an architect. He later joined the U.S. Air Force to help pay for school, served in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War, and was eventually stationed at Hill Air Force Base—the assignment that brought him to Utah.

After leaving the military, Dan painted at Volvo White. On the side, he bought and repaired cars in his home garage, finishing them with the bold, flashy paint that became his signature. Repairs for friends soon followed. Recognizing his skill and the growing demand, Dan and Angela took a leap together and opened Crazy Color in 1984. The shop began in its smaller building before growth led to construction of the main building in the mid-to-late 1990s.

After Angela passed away in 2004, Dan continued running the shop while raising Cody. When Cody took over in 2009, Dan began his transition into retirement. Today, he lives full-time at his cabin in the Uinta Mountains, enjoying the wildlife—especially the moose—and serving as the association’s designated fish keeper, making sure they are fed every day.
